Throwing the patriotism baby out with the dirty bathwater
You know things are going wrong when we ban or hide our own patriotic symbols so we can be "fair" to those who would despise and desecrate American symbols of patriotism.
In the wake of last week's immigration-reform protests, one school district is taking drastic measures, banning all symbols of patriotism, both U.S. and Mexican.Symbols of Mexican patriotism? From supposed "patriotic" Americasn? In America?
Maybe the educational system has gotten so bad at teaching geography that these kids have forgotten where they live. Most reports do describe them as students after all.
The real answer is more American flags from real Americans.
