Air America Takes Candy from Babies and Cat Food From Elderly
A real blogswarm seems to be developing over the recent Air America Scandal involving what appears to be a transfer of government grants to Progress Media (the previous incarnation of Air America) from Gloria Wise Boys & Girls Club (a chartable organization) set up to help children and the elderly.
Originally the transfer (in the form of a loan which was never paid back) was said to be about $400,000 but has recently ballooned to $800,000. What makes it interesting is that the scandal seems to be a combination of Enron style financial shenanigans combined with televangelist style hypocrisy. Considering the disdain Air America spouts for both these kinds of activities it makes for hilarious reading.
It will be very interesting to see if Air America can survive this considering its financially strapped position and miniscule fan base.
